Evan's Library Councili Committee Meeting with Dining Services about Poor Yorick's (4/8/09)

On April 8th, the Evan's Library Council Committee met with dining services to discuss the Poor Yorick's survey that was distributed on campus. Hundreds of surveys were filled out, and overwhelmingly the response was that when students showed "more coffee," to mean longer hours for Poor Yorick's as well as a larger facility for easier accessibility.

Dining services, as well as library officials responded very positively to what students had to say. Some of the concerns voiced by students were that student fees would increase for these changes. However, the changes made to the library will come from existing funds through the library and dining services. Students can expect hours to extend to match the hours of Evan’s Library, as well as a trial period for weekend hours. Additionally, a plan has been drawn up to have a double sided counter accessible from inside the library on the 1st floor as well as the current area. There will also be a size increase overall. Hours will hopefully be extended soon, and the enlargement will most likely be taking place over the Christmas break next year (2009-2010).
