This meeting included a lot of updates. First, Chris Reed from the Admissions department passed out a current breakdown of all NSC registration numbers for ech college during the fershman conferences. Admissions is working on a webpage for reporting conference numbers like the handout that everyone can collect without having to go through their office. Registration numbers are up 120 students from last year at this time and up 4000 applications for admission. There were 15,000 students admitted this year so far, and the last round of application reviews is being complete this week. 150 provisional admits have already been contacted.NSC confirmation packets will be sent soon.

Tara Boyle also walked the committee through the updated Office of New student programs website.  The committee was asked to review the site for any information regarding a particular area that you might find beneficial for new students and family members.

Meredith Malnar brought the idea of sibling programming to be discussed.  If any, the programming would be designed during the evenings for 12-18 year-old siblings who are brought to NSC’s, including a table for teens at the family dinner and Orientation Leaders available to answer sibling specific questions. We are not looking to advertise that families should be bringing siblings or creating track sessions for this population.

N. Serna told the committee that Aggie Bucks will no longer exists as of May 20th.  All remaining balance in Aggie Bucks accounts will be refunded or relocated to the student’s account. Students will have the option of getting a debit card with Wells Fargo. I.D. cards will remain the same except for removing Aggie Bucks. The official press release to the university community will be sent soon.
