April 15th

At this meeting of the NSCC, most of the discussion was on the sample schedules for the freshman and transfer new student conferences, and trying to anticipate any potential time conflicts and such to make sure things run smoothly.  There were a few questions brought up, and things that are going to be reconsidered to maximize efficiency.

There was also an update from admissions, on the registration numbers and the new EPrint system.

Lastly, they announced the hiring of a new assistant coordinator for the department of new student programs.

 

Evan's Library Councili Committee Meeting with Dining Services about Poor Yorick's (4/8/09)

     On April 8th, the Evan's Library Council Committee met with dining services to discuss the Poor Yorick's survey that was distributed on campus. Hundreds of surveys were filled out, and overwhelmingly the response was that when students showed "more coffee," to mean longer hours for Poor Yorick's as well as a larger facility for easier accessibility.

April 15th meeting

Today was a short meeting. The head coach for men's swimming, Jay Holmes,  gave an update on the mens swimming program. They have done a phenomenal job of being competitve in the big twelve in recent years. We are lucky to have an amazing facility, as well as a great training staff.

March meeting

 Trelle McCombs, the Head Women’s Golf Coach came to speak about the golf program.

March 26th

 

This meeting included a lot of updates. First, Chris Reed from the Admissions department passed out a current breakdown of all NSC registration numbers for ech college during the fershman conferences.

Rec Sports 26 March 2009

Meeting between Rec Center and the MSCC has been set for April 13, 2009 to discuss meeting spaces in the Rec Center during the MSCC renovation.   

February 19th

There was a lot of stufff to discuss at this meeting.

First off, Chris Reed gave admissions updates, and since the deadline for fall 2009 Admissions had just passed, It included the final data on freshman admits. Transfer numbers will be coming soon.

Next, a representative from Aggie Assurance gave an update on how financial assistance relates to extended orientation programs.

We discussed the Learning outcomes of New student conferences, and how well we were meeting those outcomes.

February 18 Cox-McFerrin Center for Aggie Basketball

This meeting was rather short, simply received updates. Kevin Hurley talked about the new athletic facilities that are under construction, and a trip that one group recently made to tour other athletic facilities across the country to see how our new facilities and renovations compare. Apparantly we have some of the best facilities around, which gives us an edge in recruiting new coaches and players in some cases.

We also received updates regarding the mid semester academic progress, and any necessary sanctions that were necessary for compliance with the NCAA.

Student Health Services Advisory Committee Spring Meeting

Dr. Dannenbaum called the meeting to order at 3:30pm of March 2, 2009.

Several issues had been discussed during the meeting.
